Suggestions on How to use the HR LearnOps Framework

Below are my current suggestions on how to make the most use out of the HR LearnOps Framework. Please note that this is not a full list and may not be 100% suitable in your given context. Thank you very much for your collaboration! : )

Create the desired results identified with the Statement of Work

The statement of work is usually designed and created during the recruitment and selection process. Typically, it includes the job description and the job specification. From the information within the document itself, the KSAs relevant to the job position the Statement of Work is prepared for will be revealed.

Align the training design in Step 3 with the training execution in Step 4.

The most suitable training context should consider not only effectiveness and efficiency in the corporate world. Therefore, it is essential for us to do our best to ensure that the training design is there at the first place.  However, flexibility is still important and sometimes needed in some contexts. In addition, management training and Train-the-Trainer are also several other types of training that could be used with the framework.

​Align the evaluation design in Step 2 and Step 5 of the Framework

Typically, the evaluation design in Step 2 should be based on the results in Step 1 of the framework. As for Step 5, it is more about putting the evaluation design in Step 2 into practice. The alignment is essential because it will have a strong impact on the Performance assessment results and potentially with further business performance.

Consider further analysis on broader organisational impact

Making great use of root-cause analysis, fishbone diagram, data analysis and other business models to support further organisational performance. The selection of methods should be based on its effectiveness by making great use of current resources and relevant data.

Integrate with Artificial Intelligence in the Current World

Artificial Intelligence has brought us a lot of possibilites. However, it is always important to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in this human world with a balance. It should never be this or that. It should always be both. That is due to sociotechnological change, just as technologies are designed to support humans, and humans also support the design of technologies.

Select the most suitable module to support usage with the given framework

It might not be necessary to design every course or program online, just as it might not be necessary to design every course or program to be offline. It really depends on the given context such as its scale. It is also important to consider different module possibilites of online and offline courses in a hybrid learning environment.

​Possibility of usage in Policy Development and Campus Program Design

This framework design could possibly be used to support campus program design and educational policy development as they both fall into the field of education. It is also important to consider the given context for the application of the framework.

Consider special learning needs, pace of learning, and learning preferences when designing effective learning/training

Just as sometimes slow is fast, fast is also sometimes slow. Sometimes, it might be better to slow down and have a look around. We then all might notice something different and someone in need. Embrace our past and differences so that we could all move along towards a brighter future.

Communicate with Stakeholders is the key

It is important to consider cultural transformation and change management if suitable for the given context. However, it is more important to communicate with relevant stakeholders and work on stakeholder management so that everyone in the organisation can work towards the same goal.

Support talent management and growth learning with a plan if possible

This framework is not simply designed for On-the-Job training (OJT). It could be used to support the development of future leaders as well as managers. It could also be used to support personal growth if one is considering career transfer.

​Give oneself a break in this cross-industry working nature

It is important to remind ourselves to have a nice rest instead of focusing only on working, especially when we have so much to learn from each other, from the past, and from the world. After all, sufficient rest supports better wellbeing and brings a better self.

Integrate with other HR functions for long-term business sustainability

It could be helpful to integrate other functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll design, etc. An overall systematic design could possibly be one of your core engines for your entire organisation.
